One can say that this score is to be viewed like musical theatre insofar as the four soloists (piano and three percussions) are in competition for interest of the body of the piano, which remains hopelessly cold.
One could almost find there, if one wanted, but it is not sure, the caricature of a macho society.

I would rather say now that this kind of concerto of a strange vitality actually shows the extravagant qualities of the piano in its harmony, imagination, and brutality.

On peut dire que cette pièce se situe comme théâtre musical dans la mesure où les quatre solistes (piano et trois percussions) rivalisent d’intérêt pour le corps du piano. On pourrait presque trouver là, si on voulait, mais ce n’est pas sûr, la caricature d’une société macho.
