Quatuor (1953 – 1954)
Quartet
For violin, viola, violoncello and piano
This score belongs to the first adventures of my history of a composer.
As it is very far in my past, I forgot a little which the matter is, if there is one. I think that the question is there, rather than of a concept, to try out the serial technique, which at that time represented the avant-garde, and to which the young composers were identified.
Curiously, this work has never been performed whereas all those that are around were the subjects of programming. However if I look at the score, I can see that it was worked on it and that a concert was prepared. The reasons for which it did not take place got lost in my memory.
It is thus almost 50 years after that it will be created tonight.
I am curious to listen to it!
